A Brief History of MMTI

The Medical Technical Institute of Mosul was established in 1980 with a single department and was initially affiliated with the Foundation of Technical Institutes. Following the establishment of the Northern Technical University in 2014, the institute became part of the Technical Institute of Mosul. However, in 2023, it gained independence as a distinct formation under the name “Medical Technical Institute of Mosul”.

MMTI at a Glance

MMTI is one of the Northern Technical University institutions in Nineveh Governorate-Iraq.
MMTI comprises eight medical departments:

  2. Anesthesia Techniques
  3. Radiology Techniques
  4. Medical Laboratories Techniques
  5. Community Health Techniques
  6. Nursing Techniques
  7. Optometry Techniques
  8. Emergency Medicine and Immediate Techniques

The institute is located in Rashidiyah, Mosul.
The Institute accepts students who are graduates of the scientific branch, the biological branch, and nursing preparatory school.
In the evening study programs, the all departments are available.

Vision

The need for supportive medical services for specialized facilities has increased, with natural population growth pushing towards more health institutions with technical expertise capable of supporting the health system and improving the quality of life.

Mission

Embodying the ethics of the technical education profession by providing technical education at a high level that seeks to develop knowledge.And skills that are compatible with the changes taking place in society, as well as supporting medical services by preparing qualified technical personnel who are academically and technically trained in dealing with modern technologies.

Objectives

Building and strengthening the institutional governance of the Medical Technical Institute/Mosul to achieve international standards in technical and health education.
Accommodating the development taking place in the field of work by creating new departments according to the needs of society.
Strengthening specialized programs related to health professions.
Develop a solid accreditation system for specialized training and provide the appropriate environment to achieve optimal learning.
Benefiting from scientific and practical developments in corresponding colleges and institutes to Improve the efficiency of graduates and provide them with experiences transferred through multiple means.
