Under the slogan of sustainable development.. Medical Technical Institute / Mosul organizes a scientific symposium on laboratory environment
Under the patronage of the President of Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Aliaa Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and under the supervision of the Dean of the Medical Technical Institute / Mosul, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Fadhil Haddad, the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department organized a specialized scientific seminar entitled: “The Laboratory Environment and the Extent of its Contamination”
The seminar was presented by Lec. Abdul Karim Nazim Mohammed on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Professor Dr. Aliaa Abbas Al-Attar Hall, in the presence of several faculty members and staff.

To highlight environmental hazards within medical and scientific laboratories.

To identify sources of contamination and methods to limit their spread to ensure the safety of both staff and students.

To enhance quality standards in laboratory performance in accordance with international specifications.
Recommendations:

The necessity of strict adherence to sterilization protocols and the safe disposal of biological and chemical waste.

Conducting periodic inspections of the laboratory environment (air and surfaces) to ensure they are free from pollutants.

Developing the skills of laboratory staff through continuous workshops on prevention and contamination control methods.
