A scientific visit for second-year students of the Radiology Techniques Department to the University of Duhok / Technical Institute of Duhok- Medical Departments, to enhance academic experiences between technical institutes

Under the patronage of the esteemed President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alyaa Abbas Al-Attar, and the supervision of the respected Dean of the Medical Technical Institute of Mosul, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Fadhil Haddad, the Radiology Techniques Department at our institute organized a scientific visit for second-year students to the University of Duhok / Technical Institute of Duhok, Medical Departments. The visit aimed to exchange experiences and observe the academic environment at the host institute.

The students were accompanied by the Head of the Radiology Techniques Department, Dr. Ahmed Younis Awed, along with several faculty members from the department. They were welcomed by the esteemed Dean of the Technical Institute of Duhok, Dr. Araz Rajab Ibrahim, and some of the teaching staff. During the visit:

  • Exploring the classrooms and scientific laboratories: The students explored the institute’s facilities and laboratories, which are considered an essential part of the educational environment.

  • Discussion of curricula: The approved educational curricula in the medical departments were reviewed, and viewpoints on modern teaching methods were exchanged.

  • Exchange of experiences: A scientific discussion took place between the faculty members of both departments regarding academic development and ways to improve students’ practical skills.

This visit contributes to:

  1. Enhancing academic interaction: The visit contributed to build bridges of scientific communication between the technical institutes in Mosul and Duhok, thereby enhancing future collaboration.

  2. Enriching the educational experience: It provided students with a unique opportunity to explore different teaching methods and modern scientific facilities.

  3. Developing curricula: The discussions among the teaching staff contributed to exchange ideas for improving and developing curricula to meet the needs of the job market.

  4. Capacity building: The visit provided students with an opportunity to expand their practical knowledge and connect it with real-world applications.
