Scientific Breakthrough: Northern Technical University Secures New Global Achievements in NCBI Registry
MOSUL —
In a significant step forward that reinforces its global research standing and elevates the international presence of Iraqi academic institutions, the Technical Medical Institute of Mosul, a subsidiary of the Northern Technical University (NTU), has achieved a qualitative breakthrough in advanced medical research and molecular diagnostics.
A collaborative research team from the institute successfully isolated and registered six new, distinctive bacterial strains. These strains have been officially approved and documented in the prominent U.S.-based National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), one of the world’s most prestigious repositories for biotechnological data.
The distinguished research team comprised:
Dr. Ibtisam Nazem Hazem
Asst. Lect. Abeer Mahmoud Faraj
Asst. Lect. Amna Yaarub Hamid
Asst. Lect. Riam Hassan Abdul-Razzaq
The globally registered bacterial isolates were officially cataloged under the following reference accession numbers: (PV588942.1, PV617766.1, PV618205.1, PV617764.1, PV617770.1, PV617772.1).
This milestone represents a rigorous scientific contribution that opens new horizons for researchers in the fields of medical microbiology. Furthermore, it highlights the integrated and efficient efforts of the academic faculty in addressing health and community challenges through precise, applied research.
In recognition of this outstanding achievement and their success in listing the university’s name in global registries, the Presidency of the Northern Technical University presented an official Letter of Appreciation to the researchers, praising their vital role in enriching scientific progress and raising the benchmark for academic research.
