History of the Radiology Techniques Department

The Radiology Techniques Department is one of the main medical departments at the Medical Technical Institute / Mosul, and is currently one of the formations of the Northern Technical University in Nineveh Governorate. The department aims to prepare technical personnel specialized in medical imaging and radiological diagnosis to work in health institutions and hospitals.

Establishment of the Institute to which the Department Belongs


The institution to which the Radiology Techniques Department belongs has gone through several historical stages:


  • The institute was established in the city of Mosul in 1980 with only one department, and was affiliated at that time with the Foundation of Technical Institutes.


  • Upon the establishment of the Northern Technical University in 2014, the institute became part of the formations of the Northern Technical University.

  •  

  • In 2023, the institute became administratively independent and took the name Medical Technical Institute / Mosul as an independent formation within the Northern Technical University.
