Department History

The department was established in the academic year 1975–1976 under the supervision of the Ministry of Health (The General Organization for Health Education and Training).
Its affiliation was transferred to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the academic year 1988–1989 under the name “Department of Health Technologies,” and the name was subsequently amended to “Community Health Technologies” in the academic year 1990–1991. The department awards a technical diploma after training students according to an educational system that integrates both theoretical and applied aspects, aiming to supply hospitals and health centers with qualified and competent scientific personnel. Graduates are awarded the title of “Medical Assistant” and the title of “Preventive Assistant.”
